Welcome to My Season
October 26th,, 2012
Every year when the month of October arrives, everything
hits the fan all at once. I personally am running in circles and don't
even know which way to turn. Especially today.
It kills me not to be able to write a blog when I want to. It just amazes me the amount of thoughts that completely overwhelm me everyday. All I do is think and think and think. But unfortunately by the time I am ready to write something that really get's me going, time runs out. Total bummer.
Season for me starts in October every year, it's just a given. It's the month when my husband returns to work full force, and when I say full force, I am talking about 70-90 hours a week, hopefully with one day off. And that continues right through May. Dan is an Executive Chef and everyone has to eat, right?
That leaves me once again to handle every detail of life and with the blessings of our four boys. And I tell you, they older these boys get, the harder it's getting on Mommy dearest. I keep thinking I will go back to work someday, but how? Though I did work at Olde Cypress just last night for their grand opening and I'm already lagging on my household duties. But as you can see, I would rather write. I could write forever if life allowed. Just so much to do and talk about, isn't there?
Even today is a very busy day in The Estates community. I have been June Cleaver for two days preparing for our bake-sale tonight at Max Hasse for the Trunk or Treat. We are trying to raise at least $50,000 tonight for our future Big Corkscrew Island Regional Park. (Yeah right, $50 if we're lucky!)
I haven't talked or written much about our new organization called "Friends of Big Corkscrew Island Park Organization" because I am patiently waiting on our tax exempt status. If I had the tax exempt status, Publix and Sweetbay would have donated all the stuff for the bake-sale. Oh well.
So there you have my thoughts for the day. It may not be much, but at least I got to write something. I will end this with the action packed activities the Estates has to offer beginning tonight.
Max Hasse Community Park Trunk or Treat Haunted Forest. Tonight from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. Have the joys of Trick or Treating all in one spot. If you're feeling really brave enough, we will have a Haunted Forest to walk through as well. For more information call (239) 252-4000 or visit www.collierparks.com. $2.
Tonight is also the final home football game at Palmetto Ridge High school. Come out and support the kids and buy some great concession food!
Also tonight is Harvest Hoedown at Corkscrew Elementary School at 5:00 PM. They will have a rock wall, 18ft slide, fire truck, and games for all the children. Line dancing will be on the hard court. All are welcome to grab a quick bite, shop and enjoy the event. There will be a farmers market, BBQ, Thirty One, Candles, Avon, Hair accessories and more being sold. I do believe the Girl Scouts are also doing a Haunted Forest too.
Beginning tonight and tomorrow night, the Boy Scouts Troop 2001 and Crew 2001 will put on, "The Nightmare Has Just Begun". A haunted walk from dusk until 10pm. Located at 560 Nursery Lane, right across from Gulf Coast High School. Ticket are $8 dollars at the door or $5 in advance. Call 777-6096 for more information.
Also beginning tonight until is the "Gross Walk" that will be bigger and better than ever! It's held at the Collier County Fairgrounds. Admission: $15.00 for unlimited rides and 1 Walk through the “Gross House”. For more info visit: http://www.colliercountyfair.com/events/the-gross-walk.
Oooooh.......gonna be scary!!
Lastly, at least on my schedule will be my last event I attend, I am already exhausted from just posting all of this stuff. This Saturday, the 27th, is a pretty neat event which includes one of my boys. It's a band performance from all of our middle schoolers from Collier, Lee, and Hendry Counties. Event begins at 5:45 at Gulf Coast High School. Admission is $7.
Oh, and by the way, my birthday is on Halloween, I could really use some help around the house for a gift. Thanks.
Have a great weekend!
