18 Months

Yep, that's about how long it's been since I have written a blog.  Now don't get me wrong, I've been working and enjoying my family, but apparently I lost that inspiration, and I have no idea why. Heck, I should have written a book by now, but that obviously hasn't happened, now has it?  I'll blame it on life, lol. It's not so easy for any of us anymore. A lot of stress for many, but hopefully we keep on trying.

Like many, we could all use a change too. I think I am overdue, and I did try. I had my house up for sale last year, figuring that's not only what I needed for a change, but to downsize and not have to manage such a big house. A house I love and have lived in almost 20 years now. So go figure, I put my house up for sale in the time when interest rates starting moving upward, spooking many buyers out of the market.  Let alone, all of the homes pretty much reached their peak as well. Many buyers have been priced out just about everywhere. I may have been too if I had planned to move closer into town. So I took if off the market. Not only that, we saw a shift to new home sales. Builders able to buy down interest rates, pour out the upgrades, which sells much more quickly. Thankfully, now a year later, rates are starting to come down again. But I have no intention selling now. I just unpacked! I had staged the house and put a lot in storage for 6 months, and once it all came back, I am pretty much back to normal.

Then came the 2024 election, the politics, and of course, Trump. Talk about too much stress on the average person just trying to keep up with this nut! Well, he was chosen, so be it.  I do agree, we all needed a change, but he was one change I certainly did not vote for.  Though I have a bunch of Trumpsters all around me, I simply could not bring myself to vote for him. But here we are, MAGA Trump world, and then some. Simply exhausting every day reading on what his new visions and the many changes he plans on moving forward with.😐 Let him keep talking the talk, hopefully in some cases he can walk the walk.  Felon and all.  I just go with the flow, yet definitely have plenty of thoughts, but have no intention of wasting any more words on him.

In the past 18 months, I had a senior graduate too! Class of 2024 brought in my last son to graduate high school. Congratulations Matthew! What a year he had. Wrestling, football, Homecoming King, work, and the constant words I always heard or asked, "Where's Matthew?"  Fun son, but that boy just can't sit still. Such a free-bird. Very much like his Mother, big time.😁  And I respect that. Very proud of him and myself for making sure they all stayed grounded in one home to grow up in, and all graduates from Palmetto Ridge High. Daniel was class of 2015, Nickolas class of 2018, Benjamin class of 2021, and Matthew in 2024.

MY BOYS💖

Now here we are in the year 2025.  Crazy how time flies.  Glad I took the time to write something today. Makes me feel better, which is exactly what I needed. Actually thought about recording myself because I do have so much to say, but to take the time to write it has been the issue.  I may try some new tactics because I know way back when, I wrote some pretty good blogs.

Happy New Year Everyone! 😊
