Slimy, Blue, and A Dream Come True!

July 19th, 2011

I sit here at my desk having been without a computer for almost 8 days. 8 days enough to kill me without checking into my world of life as I know it.

But you know what? It really wasn't so bad after all. I enjoyed every minute of our family vacation that certainly did a world of good for all of us to check out of all the things in life that motivate us a little too much.

Dan and I, our boys, DaVinci(14), Napoleon(11), Beethoven(8), and my little Mozart(5) all took a trip to the land of slime at Nickolodeon Suites, the blue of Blue Springs State Park, and where dreams do come true, Disney World.

Getting slimed and Disney World has been a dream of our boys for years and with the wonderful grades they all received this past year, how can you deny such a request? So we packed our bags and headed north.

It was a blast getting slimed beneath a gigantic bucket of slime. With big slides, tunnels, sprays, live music celebration and arcade, the kids loved each and every minute of it.
DaVinci had to say all he heard were people speaking jibberish. Or in other words, a foreign language. I told him to listen and enjoy the different words that come out of people. I especially love listening to Italian I told him. He just smiled.

Off too Blue Springs State Park just and hour north of Orlando for a camping trip to swim in a spring and enjoy a fully furnished, air conditioned cabin.

We arrived at the beautiful springs and I will say, it was the best part of the whole trip for me. Though it takes alot to hold down the fort of four boys and everything that comes with them, but I will have to admit, they were all well behaved and helped out alot on this entire trip. Of course, they never stopped eating either.

The spring was crystal clear and ice cold. They say it's a constant 72 degrees but I would have to argue that. As my youngest Mozart said as he stepped his little body into the water, "Mom, this is so cold, it feels like 100 degrees!"

Too funny!

The rest of our two day stay there was filled with tons of snorkeling with fish the size of small sharks, otters that swam showing off their newest kill in their mouths, a manatee and her baby, tortoises, wild turkeys and a constant sense of peace.

Off we go again! The last leg of our trip headed back to Orlando to Typhoon Lagoon and Magic Kingdom!

Keeping up on the news on Casey Anthony and the fact we passed by the prison twice was pretty neat. Interesting story indeed.

Typhoon Lagoon was our Friday morning stop. A beautiful day along with some more interesting and funny comments from the kids.
Walking around the water park, you cannot resist the urge to look at people and the suits that they have chosen.
My talker and mini me, Napoleon, couldn't resist this, "The bathing suits around here go right up the butt crack!"

I wonder if he was talking about me and my thong? ;)

And I still can't get over that hump or lump in that matter of grossness as to see older men in their 60's and 70's in a speedo. Yuck! Just doesn't sit right with me. Now if I could get my hubby to wear one, that's a different story, I could handle that-literally!

Then Beethoven in his 8 year old mind says, "Mom, I just saw two women come down the slides with airbags in their boobs!"

Gotta love kids!

Lastly, their dream came true. Magic Kingdom and Mickey Mouse! The day was spent in full as all the park rides came to us with no waits as we breezed through the whole day. Knowing the park was open until 1am Saturday night, we all got to go back to the hotel for naps and a fresh start on a late night out.

We made it until 12:30 having watched fireworks riding Dumbo, enjoying the new Haunted Mansion, the electric parade as my oldest watched a little girl cross his path describing her as a Oompa-Loompa, and ending it with one last ride on Splash Mountain. A great night!

We are home now but and I could not resist having to quote one more comment from Napoleon to his little brother Beethoven who he was fighting with as we arrived home Sunday afternoon.
Napoleon gracefully said, " Beethoven always get's his way, just like Casey Anthony!"

THE END
