Forging a Path to Nowhere
December 20th, 2010
Now what kind of a Christmas present did I have to wake up to? Are you kidding me? Collier County School District wants to give $100,000 for our bands to head up to Tallahassee to march in Rick Scott's inaugural parade? You are a piece of work Mr.Governor! Everyone and their brother is going to have a hay-day with this news.
I swear, if the school board let's this happen, you are going to see alot of people, including myself, giving zero support to our school board. This is a perfect example why our economy will end up in the forging path to nowhere. We need that money, times are tough. We elected you to do your job, so do it! Express and make it a point for the Tallahassee High School bands to participate. That would be free! And they will get a free lunch out of it too! So generous of Scott. I wonder who's paying that? You, that's right.
So all of you happy with this Rick Scott? What a joke, he is already starting off extremely poor in my eyes. And this is his latest quote for Floridians expressed December 17, 2010.
“A 12-percent unemployment rate is inexcusable and further proof that reform is needed in Florida. In order to turn Florida’s economy around, we need to put jobs first and make sure all government expenditures are justified. As the ‘Jobs Governor’, I have already begun meeting with Floridians to identify opportunities for job growth, and I am committed to getting Florida back to work by making Florida the best place to do business.”
"We we need to put jobs first and make sure all government expenditures are justified." Isn't that what it reads? But first, let me spend one million (1,000,000) on an inauguration and have my local community fess up $100,000 to come and parade me around.
What a jerk! Who the hell does he think he is? As you can tell, I may be trying to keep a professional composure here, but times like this, forget it, I just let my hair down. Take it as you wish.
So now we have seven bands asked to come yet some guy said he really wants just Naples High. But now, more than likely, they will all want to come. Okay, so why not have this band or bands provide their own expenses to Tallahassee with the parents footing the bill? There is no excuse we use our fuel funds to foot this bill. Period!
Then I couldn't help but ask myself this morning, "Who did we just vote into the our school board?" The district said there are extra funds in the fuel account and they should have enough for this trip because fuel prices are lower than anticipated. "What? Haven't you noticed that fuel prices are constantly going up? Hello!"
We are in no place to be fishing out these dollars for a parade for this so called millionaire that spent so much of his money on his campaign and is now too cheap to bring his hometown band to celebrate his victory. Deep down in his mind he knows he will suck up every tax dollar to keep up his notoriety.
That's what it's all about, isn't it "Mr. Governor?"
The jokes on us!
