Firestation Need and School Board Greed
May 6th, 2011
I can't stand how this county works sometimes, it has become
a complete joke! Can you stop and think about the welfare of our
community for a minute? And it's to all of our government in every
district that needs to read this. But this article I direct mostly to
our School Board.
Roy Terry and the rest of your crew, you really need to reconsider this amount you requested for the firestation out here in The Estates. $300,000 for the 5 acres to build a firestation?
It seems like everyone who does not live out here continues to forget about the welfare and needs of The Estates Community. Did you forget about the recent 2800 acre fire and many others or are you still trying to figure out how to make back that $100,000 dollars that you sent off with our high school bands for the Rick Scott inauguration? Those gas prices keep going down, don't they?
On the Wink News website, did you catch that last quote our Golden Gate Fire Chief Robert Metzger made? "Maximize tax resources, resources that already have been paid in someway by taxpayers."
Yes, that's our Estates taxpayer money he's talking about. Our money we spent to build our homes, the impact fees we paid for the safety and well being of our families to include firestations, police, roads, parks, and so on. Something we keep coming up short on.
All funds from The Estates flew out the window and have flown directly into all other districts of Naples except here. Mr. Terry and the rest of the school board, we need this firestation and may already have grants that could build it. Give us this deal, you know we need it. And this land is worth maybe $50,000 if your lucky, not even close to $300,000. Talk about price gouging. And what do you need this 5 acres for anyway? Donate it!
And by the way to all the Estates residents, contact all of the school board and (cc) to The Golden Gate Fire Chief Robert Metzger. This is very important step that all of us need to participate in and do right away if possible.
One last thing of good news, a little birdie told me an audit is going on right now about where the location of impact fees went from The Estates Community. See, we come together, hold meetings, and it's amazing what things that can be done. Now that's a community!
