Ghosts Of The Past

In the days since the latest "so called" peaceful demonstration in Virginia, this country seems to be falling apart and it really disturbs me. I mean really, what is this country coming to?

I guarantee we are all feeling the same way when it comes to what's going on lately.  I have never actually been in this situation before; Ya know, when you are at the point where you don't dare talk about one's valued reasons or thoughts on certain subjects. Geez!  And in my eyes, the last straw was the removing of the confederate statues.  Can you believe I am actually with Trump on this one? Who would have thought.😏

We need better thought out decisions whether any statue or any monument deserves to be placed on a pedestal or if needed to go into a museum. (Aka Ghosts Of The Past). But for now, I say everything stays, and those removed, need to be returned. I wonder if there can be an executive order placed on that?

It's like we are re-writing history each and every day.  How much more ignorant can we as a country get?  And please, don't start blaming parties for this. Democrats or Republicans. Clearly both sides are upset no matter how you look at it.

I say blame the White Supremacist and the Neo Nazis. They are the ones who need to be abolished and removed.  How did the ACLU( American Civil Liberties Union ) get away with having this demonstration?  Who is in charge of that anyway?  Who gives out the permits and agrees that it's okay?  It's obviously not okay!  There is never peaceful demonstrations anymore. I was invited to one tonight in Naples and I won't touch it with a 10 foot pole.  Never will.

So who are the White Supremacists?  Or the Neo Nazi's?  I being the nerd I am, always making sure I know what the hell I'm talking about, figured it was best copied and pasted from Wikipedia.  Love that site!

White supremacy or white supremacism is a racist ideology based upon the belief that white people are superior in many ways to people of other races and that therefore white people should be dominant over other races. White supremacy has roots in scientific racism and it often relies on pseudoscientific arguments. Like most similar movements such as neo-Nazism, white supremacists typically oppose people of color as well as people of most religions.
The term is also typically used to describe a political ideology that perpetuates and maintains the social, political, historical or institutional domination by white people (as evidenced by historical and contemporary sociopolitical structures such as the Atlantic slave trade, Jim Crow laws in the United States, and apartheid in South Africa).[1] Different forms of white supremacism put forth different conceptions of who is considered white, and different white supremacists identify various racial and cultural groups as their primary enemy.[2]
In academic usage, particularly in usage drawing on critical race theory, the term "white supremacy" can also refer to a political or socio-economic system where white people enjoy a structural advantage (privilege) over other ethnic groups,

Neo-Nazism consists of post-World War II social or political movements seeking to revive the ideology of Nazism.[1] The term neo-Nazism can also refer to the ideology of these movements.[2]
Neo-Nazism borrows elements from Nazi doctrine, including ultranationalism, racism, ableism, xenophobia, homophobia, antiziganism, antisemitism, and initiating the Fourth Reich. Holocaust denial is a common feature, as is the incorporation of Nazi symbols and admiration of Adolf Hitler.
Neo-Nazi activity is a global phenomenon, with organized representation in many countries, as well as international networks. In some European and Latin American countries, laws have been enacted that prohibit the expression of pro-Nazi, racist, anti-Semitic or homophobic views. Many Nazi-related symbols are banned in European countries in an effort to curtail Neo-Nazism.

So really, who do you blame?  All of those who read this will have their own answer to that question, but overall, it's simply how we look at history. There will always be ghosts of the past, no matter if it's the good, the bad, or the ugly.  We learn from that and we simply all know history does matter. (Though not including active racist groups as mentioned above. They've had their share in history and now they need to become actual history).

Well, that's my two cents of the day.  Hopefully we will all come to realize that we are all created equal. We all have our own thoughts and opinions to everyday struggles, hopes, and dreams.  But what's most important, we do not become a divided nation.  Sadly, it's the path we have seem to have taken and I pray we will all come to understand that none of us are perfect. Except me of course.

(Kidding!)😀
